  • School Uniforms

P.S.44 is a uniformed school for several reasons.  Our uniform policy is intended to help our school promote a more effective learning environment; foster school unity and pride; foster self-esteem; cut down on peer pressure to keep up with the latest fashion trends; simplify wardrobe and minimize costs to parents.  In addition, it teaches children appropriate dress and decorum in their “work” place; and help to improve student conduct and discipline.

ALL Students are REQUIRED to wear uniform Monday - Thursday.  Friday's are “Dress Down Days/Themed Days.”

      • Our uniform colors are Burgundy and Khaki.  We are a uniformed school.  P.S.44 has partnered with Kid’s Place as our Uniform Headquarters.  They are located at 1545 Forest Avenue in the TJ Max shopping Mall.  Feel free to make purchases at any neighboring stores.  During the school year you will also have an opportunity to purchase “Spirit Wear” from the PTA.

Theory of Action

If school leaders provide targeted professional learning, observe pedagogical practices and render actionable feedback; then teachers will be able to utilize student data to engage students and enhance explicit instruction which helps students learn to apply strategies and skills in order to become proficient and meet grade level expectations.
